Get off the beaten track as part of this adventure of a lifetime, starting in Bangkok and finishing in Chiang Mai. Stunning waterfalls, emerald rainforest trails and misty mountains are around every corner on this epic 14-day trip. Between exploring temples in Chiang Mai, partying the night away in Pai and jungle trekking… it’s hard to pick a favourite moment in the north of Thailand, especially because you’ll be experiencing it all with a new group of mates!

Accommodation
13 nights of accommodation is included on this trip. You’ll stay at an amazing selection of hotels in twin-share rooms for most nights. For the village homestay, you’ll stay in a shared dorm room. One night is also spent onboard a sleeper train.
- Bangkok (1 night): poolside hotel located right next to the Grand Palace and Khao San Road
- Kanchanaburi (2 nights): idyllic hotel with a lagoon-shaped pool and an onsite restaurant overlooking the surrounding rainforest and river
- Chiang Mai (5 nights total): chic hotel with a pool and located in the centre of Chiang Mai’s Old Town
- Village homestay (1 night): authentic village experience homestay experience in rustic jungle huts
- Pai (3 nights): vibrant resort in the town centre with a big pool, sun terrace and massage facilities
- Sleeper train (1 night): Cosy sleeper train with pillow and cover provided

Day 1: Begin in Bangkok
Your adventure starts today. Arrive at any time before the welcome meeting this evening, where you'll meet your group and trip leader for the first time. Then head out to a favourite restaurant along the legendary Khao San Road, home to the best of Bangkok's nightlife!
Day 2: Bangkok and Kanchanaburi
We'll start the day exploring Bangkok's famous floating markets. Then our journey continues to Kanchanaburi: a stunning riverside town surrounded by tropical rainforest. Take it all in on a sunset cruise along the River Kwai.
Day 3: Erawan Waterfalls
Today we'll discover Erawan Falls, one of Thailand's best-kept secret nature spots. Take a dip into the bright turquoise pools and explore this jungle paradise.
Day 4: Ayutthaya day trip
Enjoy a free morning in Kanchanaburi. Next up is the ancient city of Ayutthaya, filled with enchanted temples. What better way to explore the ruins than with a scenic bike tour around the area? Hop on an overnight sleeper train this evening; Chiang Mai, here we come!
Day 5: Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai promises the best of both worlds to travellers - vibrant cultural heritage and bustling city life! Today we'll visit the Wat Phra Maha Doi Suthep temple, with golden pagodas that look like something out of a fairytale. Enjoy a free evening in Chiang Mai to explore the local markets, listen to the live music and experience the nightlife.
Day 6: Hill trek and homestay
Today is packed with adventure as we take a trek through the jungle, heading off the beaten path and keeping our eyes peeled for wildlife. Take in the stunning nature that surrounds you, from secret waterfalls to emerald rice terraces and high mountains. Our final stop is a once-in-a-lifetime moment as we spend the night at an authentic homestay, experiencing what life is like inside a traditional hill tribe village. Later, we'll kick back over a few drinks and get to know our host family!
Day 7: Elephant sanctuary
This morning we'll be sailing back into Chiang Mai on bamboo rafts, stopping at a local waterfall along the way. We'll also visit an ethical elephant sanctuary, dedicated to rehabilitating these beautiful animals. Here, the elephants can freely roam the wilderness and enjoy a peaceful life inside their natural habitat.
Day 8: Jungle ziplining
Today we're flying through the jungle and crossing from canopy to canopy while hanging 50 metres in the air! More than an adrenaline rush, this activity is packed with gorgeous scenery and a chance to explore the rainforest like never before.
Day 9: Chiang Mai and Pai
Enjoy a chilled morning in Chiang Mai. Later, we'll make our way to Pai: an iconic backpacker town famed for its colourful nightlife, plus all the nature getaways right outside. Get ready to discover its neon-lit bars and delicious night markets for an unforgettable evening.
Day 10: Pai caves, canyons & hot springs
Today we'll explore Pai's ultimate highlights, starting with the largest cave in Thailand! Then we're heading to the hot springs, where you can indulge in the warm waters and a clay mask. A stunning waterfall is nearby, and the views don't end there. We'll finish our epic day out at Pai Canyon, watching the sunset over the valley hilltops. Back in Pai, another fun night awaits!
Day 11: Pai free day
Enjoy a free day to explore Pai however you like. Whether you feel like chilling by the pool, treating yourself to a massage or exploring more nature outside town, the choice is yours.
Day 12: Chiang Mai cooking class
Today we're heading back to Chiang Mai and kicking off our return with a traditional cooking class. We'll head to a local market where our guides will select fresh ingredients. Then it's time to follow the recipe and fill up on a delicious plateful of homemade food!
Day 13: Chiang Mai's Grand Canyon
You've heard of the Grand Canyon before, but did you know that Chiang Mai has its own version? Perfect for a relaxed day out, you can kick back in floating chairs, check out the climbing wall, ride the slides... it's basically a playground for adults! Enjoy one final night out back in Chiang Mai with your travel mates.
Day 14: Finish in Chiang Mai
Your adventure finishes today and travellers are welcome to depart at any time. For any help with onward or return travel, your trip leader can help you out.

This trip begins in Bangkok on day 1. Your nearest airport is Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). You can arrive at any time before your welcome meeting in the evening. Airport transfers are not included, however can easily be arranged through us. Reach out to a travel advisor for more details.
The local team will contact you via email around 7 days prior to your trip start date with some pre departure information and starting accomodation address.
This trip finishes in Chiang Mai on day 14. Your nearest airport is Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX), which is a 15-minute taxi ride from the centre. Return airport transfers are not included, but can be arranged through us or your trip leader.
