Day 1: Begin in Rio de Janeiro
Welcome to Rio! Your adventure of a lifetime starts today inside one of the most colourful cities on the planet. Meet your new group of mates and your trip leader for the first time this evening, before heading out for a welcome dinner and our first night out!
Day 2: Discover Rio de Janeiro
Ready for our first full day of exploring Rio? First up is Christ the Redeemer, one of the Seven Wonders of the World! After learning about this iconic statue's history and stopping for photos, we'll ride the cable car over to Sugarloaf Mountain for unbeatable views of Rio's magical cityscape. Later, we'll also visit the Santa Teresa neighbourhood, home to the famous Lapa Steps, before experiencing more nightlife!
Day 3: Favela tour and Copacabana beach
We'll start the day with a favela tour led by a local guide, uncovering more of Rio's culture and history. Our visit directly supports over 150 residents, and today you can take part in different activities like a Capoeira (Brazilian martial arts) session, souvenir shopping or some beer tasting. This afternoon's all about soaking up the sunshine along the golden stretches of Copacabana beach. Play some games of volleyball, take a dip in the ocean or kick back and relax, with a breathtaking sunset on the horizon!
Day 4: Ilha Grande
Ready for island paradise? This morning we'll take a ferry and set sail for Ilha Grande, a tropical getaway famed for its shaded palm trees, bright turquoise ocean and pristine coast. After unpacking our bags, we'll head onto the water for either some kayaking or stand up paddle boarding - take your pick!
Day 5: Secret beaches
Get ready to experience Ilha Grande in all its glory, as we uncover some of its best-kept secret beaches. From emerald jungle to gentle ocean waves and powder white sand, nothing can prepare you for how dreamy these hidden gems are. As we hop from one beach to the next, fill your free time with ocean swims, volleyball games or rest and relaxation. It's your day in paradise.
Day 6: Paraty and cachaça tasting
Our next destination promises the best of both worlds, gorgeous beaches and iconic nightlife, all while transporting us back in time with its rainbow-coloured architecture. Chill out this afternoon upon arrival, whether you feel like doing some shopping or grabbing a cocktail at one of the beachside bars. Later, we'll head out on a walking tour of the area, listen to some live music and enjoy a traditional tasting of cachaça: Paraty's speciality drink!
Day 7: Tropical island-hopping
Enjoy a relaxed start to the morning, before we head out on an island-hopping adventure - ticking the best of Paraty's beaches and secret islands off our bucket list. We'll spend the day swimming around and relaxing on the shore, fully embracing the island vibes. Back in Paraty, get ready for a lively evening!
Day 8: Paraty to São Paulo
Today we're hitting the road for São Paulo, Brazil's cultural capital and one of the biggest cities in the entire world! After taking some time to refresh upon our arrival this afternoon, we'll celebrate with one final night out as a group. Get ready to enjoy some amazing food and nightlife, toasting to the memories we've made!
Day 9: Finish trip in São Paulo
Our adventure of a lifetime finishes today. With no activities planned, travellers are welcome to depart at any time. For assistance with planning onward or return travel, your trip leader can help you out. See you next time!
